Research strategy

Counterpart is seeking to strengthen the evidence base on the effectiveness of one-on-one peer support programs for women with a breast or gynaecological cancer.  In order to achieve this, Counterpart is looking to partner with researchers who are willing to conduct research on the effectiveness of one-on-one peer support programs for women with cancer, using Counterpart's unique model.

Areas of Research

  1. determining the effectiveness of peer support by measuring reductions in isolation, increases in hope, sense of control and confidence, and
  2. estimating the cost-effectiveness of peer support programs.
